Welcome to ChiliTri, our home away from home in the village of Competa. This welcome book is intended to help you get acquainted with the area and our home. We've downloaded our 5 years of area knowledge for you to enjoy! Favourite restaurants, bike routes, swimming areas, and more. Along with our area guide you'll also find everything you need to know about our home. From your room facilities to access to the swimming pool.
Your Apartment or Room
We have sought to equip our home to a high standard and to anticipate your needs by providing all the things you might want for a luxurious stay. Hair dryers and towels are provided as standard along with complementary tea, coffee, water and toiletries.
Our philosophy
You want to have a wonderful holiday and we want that for you too. We believe that when you are here this is your home for however long you are staying and that you will be relaxed, comfortable and happy.

CHECK-IN TIME
Check-in time is 3pm. We can sometimes arrange an early check-in so please contact us if you will arrive early and we'll do our best, without any promises! We suggest you refer to the section on what to do if you arrive early - there is plenty to keep you entertained!
DRIVING DIRECTIONS
If you are arriving via car and have a GPS / SatNav system in the car or smart phone, please look for ChiliTri in Competa on Google Maps. If you do not have a GPS device, you can find us using the directions below.
Driving directions
From Malaga airport to ChiliTri in Cómpeta
- Follow N340 and keep left onto MA21 (do not drive into Malaga Centro)
- Follow highway A7/E15 towards Motril and Almeria (approx. 25 minutes)
- Take exit no 277 towards Algarrobo
- Turn left in the first roundabout towards Cómpeta and Algarrobo
- Follow A7206 and drive straight ahead in the next roundabout towards Algarrobo
- Follow A7206 towards Cómpeta (approx. 25 minutes)
- After the gas station on your right side you will see a statue of a horse and rider on your left side. Do not drive into Cómpeta but turn right towards Torrox
- After approx. 800 meters turn right at the little bar “Venta de Palma”
- Turn left on to a road sign posted "Campo de Futbol" (Football Pitch).
- Keep on this winding road until you see a statue of a stag at a cross roads, turn sharp right up a steep road towards the Campo de Futbol and ChiliTri is the last Villa on your left.
GETTING HERE WITHOUT A CAR
We understand that some of you will be traveling without a car. In this case finding us is pretty simple! If arriving from the airport please either take a taxi or you can take a bus to the central Malaga bus station and from there take a bus direct to Competa. The bus time table is here.
INVENTORY CHECK
If you are checked in to the Chili Apartment then there is an inventory list in the kitchen drawer which we will check when you arrive and leave. Please let us know if anything is missing so we can replace it or if anything is broken during your stay.
PARKING
Parking is provided on the road right outside the property.
DEPARTURE INFORMATION
CHECK-OUT PROCESS
When you leave, please ensure the following simple tasks are done:
- Let us know you are leaving and let us have the room keys.
- Let us know if there were any breakages or any issues.

CHECK-OUT TIME
Check-out time is strictly 11am. Should you require a later check-out we will do our best but you need to let us know beforehand. If we have guests arriving that day it will be almost impossible to offer a late check-out due to the cleaners needing to prepare for those guests.
CLEANING
You will find the house clean on arrival but please let us know if you are not satisfied. For stays of 1 week there is no cleaning service. After you depart our cleaners will perform that for the next guest. If you are here for two weeks there will be one clean, usually on the middle Saturday. They have a key and will access the house at some point during the day, but not before 10am. If you need a cleaning service more often, please let us know and we will arrange this. An extra payment will apply. On departure it would be helpful if you could leave the house (particularly kitchen contents & hob) clean and tidy when you leave. No need for you to perform a full clean!

ChiliTri is a unique bed & breakfast and triathlon camp getaway in Competa Spain, we will give you an experience that feels like heaven on Earth!
Sitting on the hillside above the beautiful village of Competa, ChiliTri welcomes you with stunning Mediterranean and mountain views and the warmest welcome in the Axarquia.
Imagine the pure white village of Cómpeta, nestled high in the breath taking Andalucía mountains yet only 25 minutes from the beautiful beaches, and with views of the olive groves and the sounds of crickets and birdsong.
Imagine waking up, rising from your long deep relaxing sleep to the sounds of the birds chirping, opening your windows to welcome the clear azure blue sky and the soft sounds of the village life in the quietness of the morning, far away from your normal, hectic stressful life.
In the white Andalusian village of Cómpeta, with its Moorish influences, you can be transported back in time, you can see the farmers still harvest the almonds, olives, grapes, and raisins as their forefathers did before. This is a lively and welcoming town that has retained the old charm of Andalucia, where genuine hospitality towards its visitors can be felt.
There are spectacular walks into the mountainous national parks where Andalucia´s uniquely varied wildlife can be enjoyed. The numerous bars and restaurants in and around the village provide a variety of good food, tapas, and local wine.
For sporty types we offer swimming, cycling and running sessions plus fitness classes in our outdoor gym. These include spin cycling, HIIT, Body Pump, Step and Pilates/Yoga.
Local amenities such as a supermarket and local bars are just a 5 minute walk away. To sample authentic Spanish life wonder down to the town square just a 15 minute walk.
SUGGESTIONS IF YOU ARRIVE EARLY
Many guests will arrive before the designated check-in time. The good news is that there is plenty to do. We often suggest that guests visit the grocery store and do a small shop. The nearest shop is Coviran, Av. de Canillas, 33H. That will give you more time to relax once you've checked in! There are also a few good restaurants for lunch so why not relax and enjoy some of the local food! The closest restaurants are Bar David and Chico's both in Plaza del Carmen.
ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATION

CEILING FANS
Our home is equipped with ceiling fans to help keep you cool. Each fan is operated via a pull chain on the fan.
HEATING
Should you need it we can provide you will a portable radiator.
KITCHEN EQUIPMENT
All manuals for the electrical equipment and appliances are in the middle draw of the unit to the right of the sink.
The Fridge/freezer:
You should not need to adjust any settings. If you run into any difficulties (e.g. it's not cooling efficiently) please let us know.
The Hob:
The hob is a two ring electric hob. Please make sure you don't leave it on when not in use or place anything on it.
LAUNDRY
Should you need to clean any clothing there is a laundrette in the village.
ENJOYING YOUR TIME INSIDE
BOARD GAMES / PLAYING CARDS
We have many board games so please ask if you would like to borrow any of them.
BOOKS
We have many books in the hallway of our accommodation, please ask if you would like to borrow a book.
BREAKAGES
We understand that sometimes accidents happen! Should you break anything please let us know immediately - if it's minor we usually won't charge. If it's a larger issue (e.g. the TV screen!) we would like to agree the cost with you before you leave to avoid any issues later. Thank you!
MUSIC SYSTEM
There is a radio in your room. The Gallery has an internet radio if you want to listen to your radio station back home.
TELEVISION
There is a television in all guest room showing Spanish and international channels.
ENJOYING YOUR TIME OUTSIDE
SWIMMING POOL
We have a swimming pool which is for the use of coaching athletes and not for general use. If you would like a coached session please ask. There is a 25m municipal pool Calle Artes, n, 29754 Cómpeta, Málaga.,

No pets are allowed in the rooms or on the premises.
QUIET TIMES
Please be kind to other guests and reduce your noise between 10pm and 6am.
SMOKING & E-CIGARETTE POLICY
There is no smoking or use of E-cigarettes in the rooms or anywhere on the premises or gym. Cleaning the rooms after someone smokes in the room is very costly and the cost will be passed on to you.

The nearest bank or ATM can be found in the square and is a Unicaja branch, Plaza Almijara, 17. It is open from 8:30am to 2:15pm.

GAS / PETROL STATIONS
There is a petrol station on the main road in to Competa about 2km out of town. Pago El Tajo, 29754 Cómpeta, Málaga.
GROCERY STORE
The nearest grocery store is Coviran, Av. de Canillas, 33H, 29754 Cómpeta, Málaga. But there are also others in the centre of Competa such as Dia, Eroski and Ecologicos Frutas Marisol for bio products.
